Attractions
Child Okeford is situated in the heart of Dorset on the River Stour and at the edge of the Blackmore Vale. Manor Barn is set at the foot of Hambledon Hill, in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful Dorset countryside and coastline.

The County of Dorset boasts a selection of seaside towns, rural villages, market towns and countless places of interest to visit. Below are just a few of our favourites:

Athelhampton House and its estate and gardens have been in private ownership for over five hundred years.

Bath with its Roman baths and Georgian architecture is one hour by car.

Hambledon Hill, a national nature reserve, was an important ceremonial burial site and Iron Age Hillfort. It is an exceptional place for wildlife and affords superb views over the surrounding countryside. From its trig point you can see five counties. The historic town of Shaftesbury, with its famous "Gold Hill" is a fifteen minute drive away and the beautiful Dorset coast is less than 25 miles away.

Kingston Lacy is a 20 minute drive away and is an elegant country mansion with important collections, set in attractive formal gardens and extensive parkland.

Longleat House and Safari Park remains one of the country's leading wildlife attractions. Longleat House is widely regarded as one of the best examples of Elizabethan architecture in Britain and one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public. It takes about 45 minutes to drive there from us.

Sherborne famous for its castle, Abbey and a wealth of individual shops is under half an hour away.

Stourhead is a 30 minute drive away and is one of the finest landscape gardens in the world with lakeside paths leading past classical temples and follies.

Studland Beach and Nature Reserve is under an hour away with glorious sandy beaches stretching for 3 miles and it's a haven for rare birds and other native wildlife.
